Frina Design is a design firm focused on Exhibit Planning & Design. The company provides creative services to a variety of clients. The principal, Pattie Smith, has experienced all facets of planning and design at a variety of museum types for over 20 years. Our clients come from natural history, science, or history museums or parks, aquariums, historic sites and corporate settings.
Frina Design was born of a desire to work with an even broader array of clients and projects. Since founded in 2002, the firm has developed projects of a wide scope of sizes – from cameo displays to large installations, as well as many in between. Our goal is to provide “designs for a Complete Museum Experience”.
Creating an exhibit is similar to creating a symphony. It takes inspiration/motivation, a great score/script, instruments/collections, talented musicians/designers, practice/hard work, stage/gallery, conductor/design director, and an audience/visitors to experience the production. Many elements must come together for opening night.
In exhibit design, the logistics, planning, and detailing are all necessary to make creative ideas ‘sing’ – the talents, expectations and ideas of curators, experts, audiences and designers come together in a experience that touches each person in unique ways.
