A former train station/museum was reimagined as a place where residents and visitors would experience and sense the essence of Dunedin’s historic charm. The museum was not going to be a typical history museum. Frina Design worked closely with the staff to create exhibits concepts that focused on the people, industries, and one of a-kind stories of the community. Those stories that make Dunedin unique. Indians, pioneers, resorts, boats, natural resources, citrus, and railroads are interpreted through the voices – rather than by artifacts alone. Visitors get the bigger picture via a series of historic photos or artifacts with stories and interactive elements close at hand.
